AnimaLovers has several very important volunteer opportunities.
These require a dedication to helping animals and the willingness to take on responsibility.

Technical support volunteer position (occasional need)

Provide technical support for AnimaLovers' computers as needed. This entails maintaining software and hardware on two PCs.  Basic computer knowledge essential. Familiarity with Windows XP and Filemaker Pro 5.5 required.  Knowledge of Eudora Pro, MS Front Page 2003, MS Publisher 2003 helpful.

Fundraising Chairperson

This is a volunteer position on the AnimaLovers' Board of Directors.  Duties include, but are not limited to:

coordinating established fund-raising events

developing new events

bullet

searching out new sources of grants and revenue monies

Telephone Volunteer Coordinator

This is a volunteer position on the AnimaLovers' Board of Directors.  This person coordinates, schedules and trains all telephone volunteers (see below).

Telephone Volunteer

Respond to phone messages left on AnimaLovers' voice mail

Relay messages to appropriate AnimaLovers' volunteer

Answer questions regarding availability of animals, information about special programs, and more

Training and policies are given to all phone volunteers.

Cat Adoption Center Volunteer

Convenient weekend or evening times available

bullet

Talk with potential adopters about available cats and adoption procedures

Review & approve adoption applications

bullet

Complete associated paper work

bullet

Clean litter boxes & cages, clean & fill water & food dishes

Dog Adoption Clinic Volunteer

Walk and play with dogs at adoption clinics

bullet

Speak with prospective adopters about dogs available for adoption

bullet

Transport dogs to veterinary visits and off-site clinics in Rensselaer County

Conduct pre-adoption home visits

Dog Foster Care

Temporary care for a dog who is looking for a home (expenses paid)

bullet

Provide love, guidance, play and maybe even some training

bullet

Provide AnimaLovers with day-to-day information that will help in matching him/her with the right family

Transport dog to adoption clinic and veterinary appointments
